Located in the famous“China Vegetable Hometown”--- Shouguang, China，Weifang University of Science and Technology（WUST）is a full-time high education university approved by Ministry of Education.It possesses an area of 1,951mu, a floor space of 534,500 square meters;it has 1,222,800 books,teaching and research facilities values 95,150,000 RMB. Now WUST has 1700 teachers,67 majors and 11 departments, including Sino-india Computer Software Iinstitute, Architectural Engineering Department, Automible Department, Electrical Engineering Department, Finance and Economics Mangement Department, Department of Business Administration，Chemical Engineering Department, Foreign Language Department, Jiasixie Agricultural Institute, Art department and Comprehensive Education Department.

WUST has started the project of “hundred of PH.Doctors, Thousand of Masters” in teacher team construction, striving to build the provincial, national level teaching team. We have hired Mr. Yin Weilun, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering as our Hornary President  and guest professor. Now WUST has 1562 teachers, including 298 professors and associate professors, 416 PH. doctoes and masters  141guest Professor people,33 foreign teachers.

WUST insists on the principle of “teaching work as center and teaching reform as core”firmly, we insist on teaching quality as our lifeline, and actively promote teaching reform and innovation, continuously strengthen discipline construction, standardize teaching management as well as ensure teaching quality improved steadily.

WUST has formed the subject system of “agriculture as bibcock, technology as main body, literature,management and art as two wings” with the character of “reasonable structure, coordinated development”. Software Technology is a provincial characteristic major,  we also have 2 provincial demonstrative majors, 4 provincial-level majors established between WUST and enteprise and 4provincial excellent courses. For last eight consecutive years, our 3-year program graduates has obtained the number in the exam to furher studies. For last five consecutive years, our students has won first prize in Shandong provincal computer skills competition. In 2011, our team won special award in the national college students " Challenge Cup" innovation competition in Shandong province; we got 12 gold medals in B martial arts competition in the twenty-second sports meeting of Shandong province; we won 6 first prize award  in the Eighth Session of College Mechanical and Electrical Products Innovation Design Competition; in the third Shandong Provincial Science and TechnologyForeign Lanaguage Contest , our students got the second prize and won an outstanding talent award; We also won the women 's championship in the Fourteenth China University Basketball League group B, first prize in the National Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in modeling of Shandong as well as national first prize in the National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest.          WUST has taken “promoting students’ full employment and strengthenning quality of employment “as a long-term development strategy, built network platform which can connect Shandong provincial human resources supply and demand information. Through the construction of practical teaching system, school-enterprise cooperation oriented  mode as well as the" employment-ordered" education, we have established stable practice bases, realiziing the zero link betweem learning, practice and employment," zero distance" articulation, students’ practice ability and innovation capability has been greatly improved. with solid theory foundation, excellent professional skills, good occupation consciousness and excellent style of work, our graduates have been praise byall sectors of society, our employment rate and quality rise ceaselessly, obtaining employment rate of above 95%.

WUST attaches great importance to the construction of campus culture, and actively builds a green campus, culture campus and harmonious campus. Our campus has been awarded as  provincial-level garden type unit, it has lots of trees, green grass, beautiful flowers that attracks many birds. Now we have more than 100 student organizations, campus cultural activities are rich and colorful. We have successfully hosted many important sports events, such as National Volleyball Match For College Students, the semi-finals invitation tournament of Chinese Women's Volleyball, national international standard dance competition, National School of Martial Arts Competition, Sino-US Women's volleyball match in Shandong province and College Wushu Tournament.

Adhere to the principle of “scientific research boom development”, WUST actively promotes combination between Industry and University. We have establishe 15 research institutions, such as Institute of Life Sciences, Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, Institute of Plant Diseases and Insect Pests Prevention and Control, Institute of Ecology and Plant Protection, Institute of Plant Breeding and Biotechnology, Institute of Microbiology, Research Institute of Aquaculture, Marine Chemical Research and Development Center, Software Development Center, Institute of Intelligent Robot, Automobile Engineering Institute, Biological Research Institute of cosmetics, Agricultural Saint Culture Institute. In 2011, we have set up a provincial experimental teaching demonstration center, conducted more than 30 application reseach covering tissue culture, plant diseases and insect pests, marine chemical industry, software development, cosmetics research, development of intelligent robot. For last five years, we have carried out 128 research projects from national Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education,Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Department, Shandong Provincial Education Department, Shandong Provincial Cultural Department, and Shandong Provincial Environmental Protection Department and etc. including 12 endowment project, received  211 awards of city-level scientific research achievement and 33 National patents, published 175 textbooks, 1869 papers including which 32 papers are listed in SCI, EI and ISTP.

Sticking to open education and strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, WUST has established cooperative relationship with Indian for Sino-Indian Computer Software Institute, Shandong Sino-India GTT Co., Ltd.Weifang University of Science and Technology International College; Sino-Japanese Life Sciences Research Institute and Biological Research Institute of Cosmetics with University of Tokyo; Applied Korean Secialty Education Project and Korean Students College with Dongseo University of Korea; we have become Microsoft global education project partner and been entitled to start" Microsoft IT Institure”; signed joint-education cooperation agreement with10 Universities form East Europ. Every year, we will hold International Symposium on Chinese agricultural St Culture. Till now more than 119 foreign teachers from Holland, the United States, India, South Korea, Japan and Ukraine and other countries working here, including one National Friendship Award, 2 Shandong Qilu Friendship Award, 3 Shandong provincal teaching awards. We have sent 600 students studing abroad and reveived more than100 foreign students study here.

Ahere to the unity of teaching, research and service, WUST has went on a road of combination of industry, education and reaserch. We have set up Shouguang Software Park which covering an area of 136 acres and a floor space of 380,000square meters, it is a hi-tech industry base combining software development, technical support, business services, personnel training, education and training, it is also a scientific research, practice and enterprising base for teachers and students. At present, more than 80 enterprises have started their business in the park, such as India Gateway Limited, Tsinghua Sunshine, Beijing Enyuan China Vegetable Scheduling Call Center, Shandong Bluefox Animation Company. With an investment of 1over 10 million RMB, WUST has set up software public technology supporting platform, animation cluster rendering platform and software and service outsourcing public support platform. Outsourcing business of enterprises in the park have been successfully stepped into international market like the United States, Japan, Korea, Czecht. Now there are more than 1000 employees working in Shouguang Software Park with a total yearly revenue of 350 million RMB. Now the park is forming five brand industries such as n 1000, software development, service outsourcing, animation, culture and creativeness, information services.

Shouguang Software Park has been award as Shandong Provincal Outsourcing Demonstration Base, Shandong Provincal Outsourcing Talent Training Base, Shandong Provincal Outsourcing Talent Training SChool, Shandong Provincal Public Service Platform and Shandong Provincl Joint Postgraduate Education Base. It also has been awarded as youth employment and entrepreneurship practice base by Central Youth League Committee of CPC.

WUST actively services for the regional economy  and  social  development. As a leading member,we have set up  Vocational Eduaction Group for Software Industry  in Shandong  Province, and established Shandong Educational Software Research and Promotion Center with Shandong Eduational Department,and finished trainings  for 3000 talents every year.

In August 2010，vice minister of Ministry of Education Mrs. Liweihong and Mrs. Luxin inspected our university. Mrs. Lu Xin said : “Weifang University of Science and Technology does a good job in setting up Software Park,  it enriches shcool-running mode and content. Such a case is a very good  platform and base for the cooperation between university and industry”.
